If Johnson’s election Bill fails tonight - admittedly a big “if” - Labour, Lib Dems, SNP and whipless Tories could rally around this plan.

An election only makes sense if MPs can’t agree to put Boris Johnson’s deal to a People’s Vote. It would be a mistake not to try for a referendum first.

Corbyn et al should subject PM’s terrible deal to scrutiny and work on a contingency plan to ditch him - not say “yes” to an election.

PM has agreed a hard Brexit for Great Britain and vassalage for Northern Ireland. MPs must insist people have the chance to stay in the EU.

PM faces unpalatable options: lose the DUP and ERG by making yet more concessions to get a deal; or lose moderate Tories by crashing out.

PM wants to bounce MPs to approve a deal in a single day next Saturday. It would be outrageous to decide our future with so little scrutiny.
